With the first day of spring came our first group of the year, enthusiastic students from Arcadia University celebrated Lá Fhéile Bríde(St Brigid’s Day) with us through crafting a traditional St Brigid’s cross and joining in for a dance by the fire in an Sean Teach.

St Brigid’s Day has remained the marker for the dawning of spring across Ireland, particularly in rural areas, where when the winters are harsh, the first signs of new growth and life can be most inspiriting.

There were more celebrations on the Cnoc when we made the shortlist for the Best Small Cultural Experience category in the prestigious Irish Tourism Industry Awards, which will take place at a gala event tonight, the 3rd of February in Dublin.

We will proudly represent An Ghaeltacht in what promises to be a great night.
