The Guardian/Observer World Travel Awards - 2009
"A place quite unlike any other, where Irish traditions are alive and kicking". This is how the Guardian Newspaper described Cnoc Suain in Connemara, recent winners of a prestigious and highly coveted 2009 Guardian/Observer World Ethical Travel Award.
Cnoc Suain has been judged third in the world in the "Ethical Travel Award" section; Bulungula Lodge in South Africa, runner up, and Sandela Eco Retreat in Gambia, being awarded first place.
To quote Green Travel Writer, Catherine Mack, who visited Cnoc Suain while researching her book Eco Escape Ireland: "Cnoc Suain is one of those places which makes me proud to be a green travel writer and I was almost moved to tears by the passion and commitment of the couple who run it".
