Folkloric-Evening-Flyer.pdf

The distinct language and culture of the Conamara Gaeltacht - Irish/Gaelic speaking region - is presented in a lively, entertaining programme of Irish traditional music, song, dance & storytelling.

Some of Conamara's finest accomplished traditional musicians share with you their music and stories, while the highly ornamented and unique sean-nós (old-style Irish/Gaelic) singing - passed from generation to generation - can be enjoyed in its true heartland.

Engaging stories of Thatched Cottage customs & Bogland tales are told in an original natural setting.

This cultural programme is an opportunity for you to access and learn about authentic Irish culture, while engaging with local Irish/Gaelic speakers in a traditional and inspirational setting.

The presentation is in the English language & suited to ages: 12 to 80+ yrs. The Gaelic language is also spoken throughout the programme.

The atmosphere is informal and welcoming.

Available to Private groups. A minimum group number is required. Please contact us at Cnoc Suain for programme details and our group rates.

"Dearbhaill, a wonderful storyteller, recited a poem in Gaelic and she taught us steps to a typical Irish folk dance. Such Fun! It is a 'must see' if you are interested in experiencing a unique way of learning about the culture, history and archaeology of this beautiful and fascinating island."

* Oíche Airneáin - means "a night's visiting or a social evening" - in the Gaelic language.
