“A place quite unlike any other”
The Guardian

Close to nature, this secluded tranquil locale provides an exceptional setting for special events, workshops, small conferences and residential programmes. A 20 minute drive from Galway city, Cnoc Suain’s surrounding wilderness is a welcome remove from the distractions of everyday life.

Within this rural Connemara hill village, with it’s spectacular views of mountains, lake, river and Galway Bay, Cnoc Suain cultural retreat can offer you an intimate experience in an inspiring and evocative setting.

Unique accommodation is available in our sustainably restored cottages. Exclusive use of the hill village is an option, subject to availability. Due to the nature of the terrain, Cnoc Suain is unsuitable for children under 14 years of age.

Please contact Cnoc Suain for further information.

Special Occasions and Celebrations

Throughout the year Cnoc Suain offers a unique location for a limited number of civil ceremonies, small weddings, renewal of vows and other special occasions

The 3,000 year old standing stone on the hill-top, with it’s dramatic backdrop of the Burren and Galway bay, evokes a sense of timelessness and reflection in this beautiful Connemara landscape.

Business Workshops, Meetings and Small Conferences

“Our group spent a wonderful week at Cnoc Suain, during which time it seemed we managed to achieve a rare feat in focusing wholly on our task, removed as we were from the distractions of modern and everyday life. In ways, the very proportions of Cnoc Suain created an optimal learning environment for us: we seemed not only to be surrounded by nature but part of it. We had the sense of being within an intimate, isolated environment, while also enjoying a great sense of scope and space, offered by the broad and natural variety of a real village setting.”

TEAGASC and NUI Galway

Cnoc Suain also offers residential programmes and retreats at certain times of the year. Please contact us for details.
